JOÃO LUIZ

He started his music lessons when he was eleven years old at Brazilian Music Association. His guitar graduation was given by the Alcântara Machado College of Arts, in São Paulo. The famous Brazilian guitar teacher Henrique Pinto was his tutor.

João Luiz attended festivals and seminars in Brazil and abroad, such as: Souza Lima Conservatory Guitar Seminar, Villa-Lobos Conservatory International Guitar Festival, Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão and the Internationales Pfingtseminar Koblenz (Germany), where he won the special award of the students contest.

He also participated of the guitar master classes offered by Paulo Martelli, Everton Gloeden, Roberto Capocchi, Fabio Zanon, Hubert Käppel and Abel Carlevaro.

Lopes performed as soloist and in ensembles at TBC Music, Guitar at MASP, Guitar at Library, Bach Project, Santa Catarina Church and Mozart Conservatory, besides Campinas, Taubaté (SP), Campo Grande (MS) and Salvador (BA). His concert at MuzikSchulle of Koblenz deserved an excellent review of German Rheiner Zeitung.

Recently he launched two albums: the first one performing in duo with the guitarist and composer Douglas Lora and the second one performing with the Guitar Chamber Trio of São Paulo (Brazil).

João Luiz was a Quaternaglia member from 2002 to 2009.
