CHRYSTIAN DOZZA
Born in Machado (MG), Chrystian Dozza had his first contact with the guitar through his father Pedro Ernesto da Cunha, at the age of 14. His musical education began with the musician Frederah and continued later with teacher Marcos Sarques. In 2002, Dozza was accepted to Santa Marcelina College in São Paulo to major in Classical Guitar, studying with Paola Picherzky and Paulo Porto Alegre.
In 2004 he was awarded second place at the XV Souza Lima Guitar Contest and was also given the Most Talented Performance prize. He was also the winner of the 1st Classical Music Young Talents Competition promoted by the São Paulo Jewish Cultural Center and acquired the 1st prize at Musicalis National Guitar Contest in 2007.
Dozza released in 2005 his first CD entitled Songs from the Land (by Sonhos e Sons label), and at present, he is preparing Fantasia Mineira, his second solo CD, which includes pieces composed by the guitarist himself.
He performed at several concert series in Brazil, like Violão at Masp, organized by Henrique Pinto. In 2008 Dozza was selected to attend a master class with the Cuban composer, guitarist and conductor Leo Brouwer during his first visit to Brazil.
Chrystian Dozza currently teaches classical guitar at EMESP (São Paulo State Music School). He is a Quaternaglia member since April 2009.
