BRENO CHAVES

Born in São Paulo, started his piano lessons at the age of 10. When he was 13 years old he started his guitar lessons.

Teachers as Everton Gloeden, Henrique Pinto, Sérgio Cominatto and Edelton Gloeden contributed a lot to his music expertise.

As a stockbroker at the International Guitar Seminar of Porto Alegre, he participated in master classes with Eduardo Issac and Miguel Girollet.He performed as soloist at very important events of the Brazilian music scene, such as the Guitar Seminar 1988 -Mozarteum College of São Paulo, MASP - Guitar Show 1988, Araçatuba Guitar Seminar, First Movement Telecast - TV Cultura, MIS - Image and Sound Museum and Eldorado Music Reward - Cultura Artística Theatre.

He was rewarded in several national and international contests, such as the Guitar Contest of Santos Musical Conservatory, Souza Lima Guitar Contest and - as a Quaternaglia member - the IV Chamber Music Contest of Santa Marcelina College and the IX International Guitar Contest of Havana. As a chamber music performer and teacher, he acted at important Festivals in Latin America and U.S.A.

He was one of the founders of VIBRA - Brazilian Guitar Society, corporation that promotes concerts and divulges the guitar in Brazil. He hardly participated of the musical and pedagogic activity of Quaternaglia Guitar Quartet until March 1999.
