PAOLA PICHERZKY

Member of the group Choronas since its beginning in 1995, Paola participated in various projects dedicated to the Brazilian Popular Music, mainly those devoted to the rhythm Choro, which made possible the recording of the albums Atraente (1999), Choronas Convida (2003) and O Brasil toca Choro (2007). The group performed in the most important Brazilian cities and abroad. In 2000 the album Não tem choro was recorded together with the flautist Ricardo Kanji.

Paola Picherzky has an intense academic actuation. She teaches guitar at Santa Marcelina College and at Uni FIAM/FAAM Music College. In 2001 she created the project Guitar Education in Groups, which led to the establishment of the first Guitar Orchestra of the Arts Foundation of São Caetano do Sul, where she acts as conductor and artist director.

In 2004 Paola obtained her Master Degree from the Paulista State University (UNESP) with the dissertation Armando Neves - Choro no violão paulista. This work resulted on Armando Neves' entire biography rescue, the composer's complete works catalog, and the recording of an album of eighteen choros that was transformed into her first solo CD, called Choros de Armando Neves (2007).

Paola is a Quaternaglia member since September 2007.
